This was a funny book because it came from the view of a spider. He just wanted to be a families pet and they kept shooing him away because he was a spider. Finally in the end, the family realizes that the spider could make a good pet so they start to take him places as their pet. In the end the spider gets so comfortable that he invites all his spider friends to stay at his new home. ( )

A spider wants to become a family pet. But however she tries to persuade them, they react with irrational fear. Eventually they see how beautiful her garden spiderwebs are and let her be their pet after all. This would be a good read for discussing a child's fear of spiders, and perhaps lead to discussions about irrational fears in general.
