... The Thirteenth Tale is also very good so far, though it's not turning out anything like I expected! On deck, I've got Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell and Four Seasons in Rome, which my husband is currently enjoying. His verdict on it so far is "we're never having twins!" At this rate, ...

#28 Outliers Makes me wish I were less lazy.

I finished Outliers while eating a cold plate (ham, potato salad, coleslaw, tossed salad)... Followed by a homemade espresso with almond milk.

Book #80: Outliers: the Story of Success by Malcolm Gladwell I don't always agree with what Gladwell has to say but I am always interested in what he has to say.

In the middle of Outlander and Vanity Fair. Next up will be either The Coral Thief, Outliers, Cemetery Dance, Vampire Diaries, or The Butterfly Garden. Too many good books, too little time!!! :)

I'm reading Outliers: The Story of Success by Malcolm Gladwell. So far it's very interesting.

17. Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell I read this and couldn't stop telling my family all the interesting facts in it. They actually got a little peeved at me for it. This book was so interesting not only because of the main over-arching point, but also because of all the smaller stories used to ...

Finished Outliers. I found the book a very readable collection of extremely interesting facts proving that background (generations back), social class, time of birth, help from others, and luck are crucial to success. I really liked Gladwell's Outliers too, recommended it to everyone.

I am reading Outliers which is fascinating. It makes sense to me. Of course there are truly exceptions, but Gladwell fairly debunks the myth of the self-made man. This is my first book by him, but will read the others now! Trying to sharpen my brain, which desperately wants to be on a beach ...

Great thread! I will be starring and checking back. I've had both Outliers and Chocolat on my periphery for a while, but your threads have convinced me to add them to the official TBR list/virtual pile!

Thanks! I've "borrowed" the format from what I've liked of several other users. Outliers would be great on audio, but I couldn't find Chocolat at my local library and The Girl with No Shadow might be too soon to have out on audio. I hope you can find them, though!

... Okay, that was a mistake! You do such a nice job displaying and commenting on your books that now I see I need to add Outliers, Chocolat and The Girl with No Shadow to my list of books to read. I hope I can find at least a couple of them in audio format.

#45 let us know what you think of Outliers - it looks interesting, but I tried to read his Blink (which also sounded interesting, I thought) and didn't make it past chapter 2. I just couldn't tolerate his writing, so I've been intentionally avoided Outliers.

Hi, walk2work! I keep seeing that book Outliers. I am going to have to find a copy of that. Happy reading! :) --BJ

OK, I finished Outliers last week, but couldn't figure out how to say what I wanted to say in just a few sentences. I've folded the corners on dozens of pages and scribbled on many more! I think this book should/could occupy a whole thread--anybody else interested????

On my list are Outliers and Eat Pray Love. Thanks, loriephillips, I'm going to reserve Paula immediately. I've read most of Isabel Allende's books and enjoyed her non-fiction about Chile, what was it called? My something Country?

... While I was reading the book, Gladwell came on the radio, which was kind of freaky. I am looking forward to reading Outliers.

I just finished Outliers. It was kind of inspirational in a "success = opportunity + killer work ethic" kind of way. I also enjoyed the easy-to-read, entertaining Outliers. 34. Outliers I know Gladwell isn't known as one of the most careful, scientific, thorough of researchers, but he does write really, really entertaining books. I burned through his third effort. His first two were The Tipping Point and Blink. He makes the obvious, profound.

I'm reading Outliers. I'm burning through it; very entertaining.

73. Outliers by Malcom Gladwell I really enjoyed this book that points out how talent and skill have to meet up with luck and demographics for someone like Bill Gates or the Beatles to acheive the success they have. Some very interesting concepts here.

Am reading Naomi and Ely's No-Kiss List by Cohn and Levithan in between Gladwell's Outliers.

Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell. I love his work. It just got a scathing review from Michiko Kakutani at the NY Times, but she's notorious for scathing reviews.

I'm reading Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell.

I just finished an ARC of Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell and am psyched to begin Wally Lamb's new book The Hour I First Believed, which was released today, this evening.
