This was the longest Patterson. Granted I don’t read like I used to but this was quite the dull chore. Much too goody two-shoes for my taste. While Patterson is known for quick, enjoyable reads, he dropped the ball with this one and turned it into slow and boring. Totally unbelievable action scenes. In this day and time, you want us to believe that a NYC detective has 10 adopted kids??? ( )

"Detective Michael Bennett hunts a killer with an ego as big as all New York"

This book was thrilling. Another good book added to James Patterson's, Michael Bennett Series. Micheal Bennett is a brave detective in many ways. Besides investigating and fighting crime his home life lingers on the brink of adventure to the fullest. As he struggles to save New York City from a serial killer named, "The teacher", the pressure is overwelming and unselectively confusing. Especially, when the killer turned out not to be who the detective thought and the detective's attitude, "I've got him now" stakeout was not where the killer was going to appear. The killer had other plans.......The detective was also a father to ten young children who's wife died unexpected the year before. He was now under more mental anguish.... His mind and time was on the serial killer.... However, in haste moments he needed to go home to one child after another to tend to a medical influenza spreading like wild fire throughout his family.....There was a lot of humor used during the family scenario that moved the story along the path of destruction......Then the killer decided to top the detectives night off taking him on a thrilling small engine plane ride around New York City skyscrapers being chased by a F-15E Strike Eagle........It wasn't as stroung as some of James Patterson's books but he still prevailed........Banjo

Michael Bennett returns in Run for your life, the second in the series. Michael returns to us with his nanny and 10 kids after his wife died in the first book. This time he is faced with a killer calling himself 'The Teacher'. He goes on a killing streak killing people in New York. At first it seems random but a pattern seems to emerge after someone identify's who they think the teacher is. On top of this, all of his kids have the flu and are vomiting everywhere!
The book is a typical short chapter James Patterson thriller. Its fast paced, interesting and has an air of unpredictability to an extent. Michael is a likable character as is his nanny who manages to look after his 10 kids.
I will read the next in series. 3.5/5 ( )
