Female chauvinist pigs by Arial Levy has a nice discussion on raunch culture. Not purely about porn, but has some solid insights into women's fostering of their objectification. It doesn't so much focus on feminism but rather on mainstreams women's response and contribution to raunch ...

Finished: Jennifer Baumgardner's new one Look Both Ways, and Female Chauvinist Pigs by Ariel Levy, which I'm going to review. I'm kind of torn -- on one hand, I agree totally. "Raunch culture" has gone too far, especially when you see things like thongs for 10-year-olds and playboy ...

I read it before it was featured on the Report, but I enjoyed Female Chauvinist Pigs by Ariel Levy. She managed to hold her own with Stephen, which is more than I can say for most of his guests. But back to the book -- it was well-written, and I'm surprised that such a huge cultural movement ( ...
