Under the order of her Alpha and father, Faythe is now at home with her Pride, working as an enforcer for two and a half years, when she can then get control of her own life again. She’s back with Marc as well. Unfortunately, trouble is also back. Several bodies of stray cats turn up in the Pride’s territory, working their way closer to home, and a foreign cat is suspected of being the murderer, and Faythe and her fellow enforcers are ordered to investigate. Then Faythe gets a phone call from an old college buddy, which puts the possibility of blame at her own feet. Who is murdering all these cats? And what possibly could Faythe have to do with it?

Another awesome book by Rachel Vincent! I can’t tell you how much I love this series so far, and how great it is having Faythe narrate it.

Much more story than action in this novel, and not as dark as Stray, but that doesn’t take away from the greatness of these characters and the lives they live. I can’t go into much detail as this book is so complicated, the smallest thing could be huge, but a lot of the story involves investigating, looking for evidence, and putting the pieces together. I wouldn’t say the book is predictable, because it is so complicated, but I managed to put several puzzle pieces together myself, and work out some of what was happening.

However, when the action does kick in, it’s awesome! Rachel has this unbelievable talent of writing the action scenes in a way that you can actually see them; it comes to life, and it’s literally like watching a movie! Some of the detail is a little bit stomach-churning, but I think that only highlights what is amazing talent.

I love the characters in this novel! Faythe annoys me sometimes with always wanting to rebel, and with her keeping some things to herself, when you just know it’s a mistake, but her humour, her strength, and her loyalty when it comes down to the crunch make up for it all. I so wish I could meet Ethan and Jace, they are just two of the coolest guys ever, I love their playful, cheeky attitude. I have to say I much prefer Jace to Marc, Marc is too serious for me, but to each her own. And Owen! Oh, I want to hear Owen speak! I want to hang out with Owen and just listen to him talk the whole time. He’s such a sweetie!

Another brilliant book by Rachel, and I can’t read to read the next, Pride! ( )

Faythe is holding on her part of the deals she made with her father in Stray. She is working as an enforcer for him, and is lucky enough to be paired up with Marc, Alpha's right-hand, enforcer and boyfriend - sometimes. This is another action-packed novel and multiple events which seems unrelated at first, are all part of one big puzzle. An unknown cat is calling to report dead tomcats, human strippers are going missing in multiple areas, Faythe's ex-boyfriend, Andrews, is calling her with weird declarations. How all of this mix together? Well you'll have to read the book to find out =)

Romance wise, Faythe is kind of back with Marc in a no strings-attached relationship, Jace keeps to himself more then ever and like mentioned before, Andrews gets back in the big picture. Nothing is simple when a series of event blurs all our tabby was counting on.

I loved Stray and I wasn't let down by Rogue. I LOVE the series, in fact Pride and Prey are in a nice package on there way to my place right now *winks*. Rachel as a very personal way to put her characters to life, you really feel like you know them personally, and yet, they always surprise you with their course of action. I like the relationship between the pride, all of the boys have something special and unique and you care about them. Faythe and Marc are indeed my favorite but Owen isn't far behind.

The plot is very nicely knot and I couldn't guess most of the action before hand. Actually the only things I guessed was Andrews new status and who his accomplice was. The end makes you dies for more, it's cruel to keep readers on a hook like Rachel! *smiles* Thankfully I discovered this series not long ago so I only have to wait until Monday for my delivery haha!

Seriously if you haven't picked that series yet go and do it! I was holding back because I read bad comments on amazon but when I cruised the blogging network I realised that the series have many fans out there, so I picked it up and I don't regret it! ( )

I really got annoyed at the main character in this one. In the first book I found her mildly annoying, this time I just wanted her to get a clue. yet, the story is interesting enough that I just requested the next book from the library. ( )

A good read, which tied up some of the loose ends from 'Stray' the previous book. Rachel Vincent has created an authentic feeling world, with its prides of were cats and a main character who is both intelligent and childlike in her self-absorbtion. I shall definitely read the next book as I want to know what happens. ( )

Book description

Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 0778325555, Mass Market Paperback)

Okay, so cats don t always land on their feet.

I know that better than most. Since rejoining the Pride, I ve made big decisions and even bigger mistakes: the kind paid for with innocent lives. As the first and only female enforcer, I have plenty to prove to my father, the Pride, and myself. And with murdered toms turning up in our territory, I m working harder than ever, though I always find the energy for a little after-hours recreation with Marc, my partner both on- and off-duty.

But not all of my mistakes are behind me. We re beginning to suspect that the dead are connected to a rash of missing human women and that they can all be laid at my feet--two or four, take your pick. And one horrible indiscretion may yet cost me more than I can bear...
