A book to read, put down, reflect, modify how you do things, then pick it up again. I have read this a few times and pick up a new strategy each time. ( )

Read during Winter 2002

Much harder to put into practice than organizing but still brill.

Read again in 2018. I'm not as sure about this as I was on the first read. The methods for organizing your space might be just as good to organize your time but I don't get the same vibe of This Makes Sense. I may work on this in very very small chunks.

Morgenstern used the same approach with time that she did with organizing in her Organizing from the Inside Out book. Again she included multiple worksheets and questionnaires, which I found helpful. There were case studies sprinkled throughout each chapter. Overall, Time Management would be best suited for newbies to time management strategies or those who are still searching for new ideas and inspiration to lead them to a workable system. ( )

If your life is a chaotic mess that is dotted with missed deadlines, mounting paperwork and jumbled priorities, then Morgenstern's book will likely be helpful. Fortunately, I consider myself to be a fairly productive person (most of the time). Hence, I was searching for some time-management tips that went beyond common sense steps. Consider Morgenstern's work time management 101. Skip it if you're already fairly adept at prioritizing tasks and juggling multiple challenges. But for those folks who feel perpetually behind in grappling with life's many demands, you'll find some helpful nuggets in this book. This is clearly the author's main target audience. ( )

These days we are overwhelmed by balancing work and family life and overwhelmed with clutter. As a follow-up to her best-selling book Organizing From the Inside Out, Julie Morgenstern is back again and ready to help you take back your time. Did you know that the average person loses one to two hours per day searching for items? Stop wasting that time! Morgenstern will show you techniques for setting time management goals, tips for choosing the right kind of planner, tips for getting things done faster, and how to say no to things that you don’t really need to do. If you often find yourself saying, “If only there were more hours in the day,” then this book is for you! ( )
