Decent Space Opera from the 50s-60s era and only published in the UK. Blow is a good writer and I believe this is the only SF book he ever published. His writing skills are better then this story which is very average.

The book takes place in the present. The present being the 1960s. Because of that it's a bit dated. It starts out as very intelligently. As the story moves on to a trip to Mars it becomes pure Space Opera which could be easily made into a B movie.

It's worth reading if you like adventures into unknown lands and you like classic SF from the fist half of the 20th century. There is adventure danger and a happy ending. ( )
