Sibley was a young work horse who helped the local farmer with his duties that needed to be taken care of day by day. Sibley was very strong and could do everything that the farmer needed done. One day on the farm something just didn't seam right to Sibley and the other animals. A red tractor was parked outside, his name was Mac. He blew smoke from his exhaust stack and was stronger than ten horses combined. Mac was the head worker of the farm now and that made Sibley feel bad. Sibley was left alone in his stall while Mac got to do all of the work on the farm. That didn't make Sibley very happy and he started to get sad. Thankfully Mac got stuck one day in the muddy field and the farmer needed Sibley to help pull Mac out. Ever since Sibley helped Mac out of the mud the farmer had a great idea to let the two of them work together, and now they make the best work team a farmer could ask for.
This is a great story and is very relatable to many children. Farming is a huge thing around the Wisconsin area and every child is interested in it. This book has a lot of sentimental meaning to it and allows children to understand the importance of work and how they may feel if someone or something took work away from them. ( )
