An elephant is one of nature's most amazing animals. Though discovered by skin an inch thick, it is as sensitive to cold as is a geranium, and in wild life it must live near the equator. Though elephants are among nature's largest and strongest land animals, he heard of them can move through the forest without making a sound.

The elephant struck is superior to the nose of a human being in its sense of smell, and in addition it acts as a delicate instrument of touch and taste. Upon being attacked, and elephant can use his trunk as a weapon to lift a wild tiger and throw him.

Elephants are social creatures, living in herds of 20 to 40 animals, both males and females. They work energetically together to protect the baby elephants in the herd. Adult elephants are easily trained; and since they are intelligent, friendly, and curious, they make excellent zoo animals.

Pachy, the Runaway Elephant, is a true story in all essentials. The incidents have been arranged in a sequence that offers the greatest narrative appeal.
