For example: If I express interest in a book about women's issues than it would help if I had The Feminine Mystique in my library. But if I also had mysoginist writings, i.e. Ian Fleming, would that hurt my chances?
(Hmmmm... no touchstone for Ian Fleming?)

Edited to add: The reason it took me so long to finish another book is that I also read half of The Feminine Mystique since And Then We Came to the End, which I will be getting back to next. ... its social significance (it remains a talking point in histories of the period even now) clearly supports its inclusion. The Feminine Mystique is a terrific book, teelgee, and a quick and easy read. It's widely available in cheap editions too.
