I received these books in 1981 from the George C Marshall Research Foundation, Lexington Virgina. I was a George C. Marshall Award recipient for the year 1980-1981. This first book in a three book series is inscribed to me from the author Forrest C. Pogue. I read all three volumes during the 1982-1985 time frame while stationed in the Federal Republic of Germany and they are very well written.
