Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 0809144360, Paperback)

The seven last words of Jesus are really the seven last sentences Jesus spoke. This book takes those sentences and uses them as weekly devotional tools. The program has been created with small group dynamics in mind. It is also beneficial to those who are following it by themselves.

Starting the week of Ash Wednesday and following through until Holy Week the program helps retreat members:

" establish a daily time for prayer

" facilitate sharing among participants

" encourage one another to stay focused on daily prayer

The format enables participants to carry or pray with one or phrase word each week, then have an opportunity to talk to others in their group about how it helped them in prayer. The portability of praying with the one word or phrase enables participants to lift hearts and minds to God in spontaneous ways wherever they are--whenever the Spirit moves.

There is a mutual reinforcement of the heart's desire and a strengthening of one's relationship with God.
