Evening ... A Field Guide to the English
I enjoyed this. Like any ex-pat, the author isn't always consistant about whether or not she enjoys living in the UK. Neither praising all the time, or always finding fault, but commenting on the sorts of things that outsiders notice.

... A Field Guide to the British. It came home with me yesterday but it's not mine - just visiting. The Anglo Files by Sarah Lyall -- the print version would probably be a better bet as I ended up FF'ing through some of her talk of Brits and sex, as well as her (to me) lengthy anecdotes on sexism; her English husband comes from somewhat of an upper class (or at least very high middle) ... I liked your review of The Anglo Files - on the pile it goes. I travel to the UK fairly often, and it will be good to know how I am unknowingly being culturally insensitive! ... whole "provincial town" thing struck me as a bit silly. I mean, come ON - its LONDON, for God's sake!
