Nathaniel, or Natty as he is better known doesn't know what he wants to do with his life. He thinks he will find his way after a trip with his cousin. Natty and his cousin Vincent embark on a journey, but they're not alone. Vincent's friend Miles Lovell comes along with them, it is actually to his house they are going. At Mr. Lovell's house Natty finds a ghost, only he doesn't know it yet. When he gets home his life starts to change. His mother becomes distant and starts hiding things from him, and his father is growing old fast. He continues visiting Mr. Lovell to try to find himself and sort his life out.

This book was very difficult to get through. I started reading and was sidetracked at least three times, on the first page! I thought if i just made it a little farther it would get into the action, well i finally made it to the middle of the book and still no action! It was so boring.
Now, there are a few reasons this book was boring. The first was that the wording style of the book was weird. It was like old english, but modern old english, if that makes sense (i don't think it does :) ). The plot was also very confusing. It jumped from one place to the other without much description.
I did like the plot, but i think it was poorly executed. ( )
