Katy Caboose hates being last, breathing in the black, dirty clouds of smoke from the engine up front. She longs for fresh air and a peaceful, stationery view. Then she meets a switchman's shack in a railway yard who confesses an envy of her, which makes Katy appreciate her own life out on the track. But then an accident on a high grade occurs and Katy Caboose goes hurtling off the track and ends up getting stuck high up between two spruce trees -- and the workmen never think to look that high and miss finding her. So she happily gets her wish in the end -- a peaceful rest with a view. ( )
