No current Talk conversations about this book.

The stories in the book are a good resource for conversations between children, teachers, and/or parents/caregivers about what happens to children in their daily lives. The stories might also be used to encourage children to write about humorous incidents they have experienced.

This book met the requirements for traditional readers: less than one-hundred pages; a larger typeface; short sentences; and short chapters. Illustrations are inserted every couple pages and are used to break-up the text and the white space. The stories are not connected. The author does not indicate the time. There is no logical series or sequence to the happenings. The children’s conversations are lively, funny, and entertaining. The stories seemed disjointed. There was no cohesiveness and the chapters lacked transitioning. ( )

Meet Julia and Evan, two siblings who greet each day's escapades with an uncommon mixture of curiosity and common sense. Whether they are lost in a crowd at a marathon, filling a grocery cart with pet supplies for the dog they don't have, or finding exciting indoor uses for their new umbrellas, Julia and her little brother relish adventure, on a strictly no-nonsense basis.

Here is the perfect package of nine stories--nine windows into the world of two intrepid young explorers--for the entire family to laugh over and enjoy.

(retrieved from Amazon Thu, 12 Mar 2015 17:59:45 -0400)

Julia and her younger brother Eric share several adventures, including getting lost at a marathon race, going grocery shopping, helping to catch two thieves at a pet store, and learning to speak Spanish.
