I was not expecting to enjoy what I thought was just another romance novel. This historical romance novel included a female who had more gumption than the typical female of the time. She was a tomboy who enjoyed fishing, fencing, and speaking her mind. However, she had a past that kept her from enjoying a romance with a man who appreciated her for what she was. I was expecting this book to just be a light read to pass the time on a cruise. It had more action than I expected. ( )
