Work detailsThe Evil Days by Bruno Fischer
None. None. An editor's wife comes home with a fortune in jewels she says she found in a parking lot. Should they turn them in or keep them? (And, by the way, why isn't that poet answering his phone? I really need to return this manuscript of his that I have decided not to publish.) This is one of those books with a fairly limited number of characters, and they are all there for a purpose, so the way things end up weaving together doesn't come as any great surprise or shock. This is a book without any heroes, and is the better for it. It doesn't all quite blend together, but it's a fast enjoyable read. ( )The best Bruno Fischer book I've ever read. I first read it right after it was published. By the time I decided it was time to read it again and even purchase it, I had forgotten the title and author. I had a hard time finding it by the plot and keywords, but I finally did. Then I bought everything else he'd ever written and I did not like them very much. no reviews | add a review
