We're still trying the recipes from this book, but so far they are interesting and tasty. There's some detailed information about Ayurveda and the doshas for those unfamiliar. This is strictly a vegetarian cookbook, so I often use the recipes for lighter meals and give my husband a side of meat protein to go with it.

I'm working on some health issues, and Ayurveda seems to be the most helpful system for me to do that holistically.

The recipes I've tried so far make family-sized portions, so if you're cooking for one or two, adjust accordingly. ( )

The Ayurvedic Cookbook

A Personalized Guide to Good Nutrition and Health

by Amadea Morningstar with Urmila Desai

After reviewing this exciting find I can see how it can really change your life in a whole bunch of astounding ways. It was clear right from the start that those who contributed to the book knew their subject. I was able to learn a lot about the Ayurvedic philosophy and there were even helpful charts so I could determine my constitution.

After I determined my needs then I moved on to the section that showed me the food types that would help keep me balanced, and then I had over 250 recipes to play with so my meals did not have to feel regimented or boring. With cute little pics, a well rounded glossary and much wisdom throughout my new buddy and I are fast becoming best friends. I would recommend this gift from nature to anyone wanting to change their life and balance their soul. Thanks, so much for showing us all the beauty this way of life has to offer.

Love & Light,

Riki Frahmann ( )
