Il solito Vitali brillante ed ironico che scrive libri leggeri, ma di sicuro gradevolissimi; il punto di forza non è mai la storia, molto tenue e spesso appena abbozzata, ma i personaggi che ne fanno parte. Anche quest'opera non fa eccezione: la trama è quasi inconsistente, ma i protagonisti hanno una personalità ben definita e sono loro a rimanerci impressi con le loro eccentricità e le loro debolezze. In particolare il tono dell'opera è ai limiti del grottesco, stemperato solo da quell'ironia bonariamente disincantata che è il marchio di fabrica dell'autore. Vitali si conferma anche un valente narratore, infatti il romanzo scorre dalla prima all'ultima pagina in maniera fluida e asciutta, senza perdersi in fronzoli ma portando subito il lettore nel vivo dell'azione.
L'unico problema coi suoi romanzi è che sono tutti molto uguali a se stessi, complice anche l'ambientazione in quell'eterna Bellano ( )
