Blake Walker has been inducted into the worlds spinning operations of Vroom after his unanticipated adventures in the previous book in the series.

Assigned a routine run to check up on a project to seed a deserted world with life, Blake's also instructed to make sure that the twin daughters of Erc Rogan, head of the patrol are safe. What he finds is a nest of sedition and treachery that sees one twin stolen off-world and the other lost on an uncoded level with Blake when their shuttle home was sabotaged!

Despite being almost fifty years old, this is still quite an exciting read and while Marfy and Marva, the twins, are not the focus of the story, they still manage to have a presence in the story that is quite unusual even for Andre Norton for that era. ( )

This is the second of the Crosstime books by Norton. Blake is well ensconced in the Crosstime life now. However, it doesn't remain peaceful for long. His boss' daughter is kidnapped, and they also uncover another of those dastardly mess up time and alternate worlds conspiracies of badness.

Spider-Sense and Mind Shield will definitely get some more use here as he races to sort it out, with some help.
