That is because the Church treats the issues differently, as it should, given Judeo-Christian tradition. See the Catholic Catechism on each subject.

I would also include The Catechism of the Catholic Church not so much for its Catholic teaching, but because it is an excellent introduction to Christian theology.
The Varieties of Religious ... #7, Catechism of the Catholic Church, which has the official imprimatur (and to RC trumps the Bible), specifically says the view that faith in Jesus alone saves is "anathema" (i.e., cursed)
I highly recommend that reference book for both Catholics and nonCatholics who love them. I like that our only shared books are Love in the Asylum and the Catechism of the Catholic Church!
