After the treadmill of Book 2 of the trilogy, this one again picks up the pace and goes somewhere. A romping good read that might prompt some teen discussions of nature/nurture, loyalty, ends/means. Found on mortalistruments.com that oxymoronically enough this trilogy will have four books in it. And the author is at work on a three-book prequel. Am starting to long in this post-Potter world for a book so complete that it doesn't cry out for a sequel. ( )

The last book of the Mortal Instruments series. Now Clary finaly travels to the City of Glass to find someone who can cure her mother. But Valentine is still trying to resume the power and suddenly there are some things tuning up, which nobody would have expected. Will Clary, Jace and their friends be able to defet Valentine and his army?
And again a series I simply adore. And with this book Clare managed a magnificant ending of her trilogy. Although I'd have liked it if there had been some more details about the relationship between Alec and Magnus (definitely my absolut favourites). ( )

Clary is hoping to get in to Idris to talk to a warlock who can help wake up her mother. But Jace has other plans, and Simon winds up coming along instead. Idris is going through troubled times and it looks as if Valentine may destory them all. An alliance with the downworlders may be there only hope.
This was even better than the first two! It was packed with action and loads of twists and turns. Surprising and satisfying. ( )

The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare is one of those series that just get better with each book. Instead of running out of plot, this story just got better and better, and more complex as the series went on. I absolutely adored City of Bones, as well as City of Ashes, but City of Glass easily topped them both. The characters, whom I already loved before reading this book, only became more real and human (well... sort of!). Back-stories became more complex and fleshed out, and new characters were introduced, most notably, a dark Shadowhunter named Sebastion, who is not really what he seems. This book was my favorite of the series, and I could not put it down! I think I lost a fair amount of sleep reading this book well into the night. If you are a fan of the first two books, or even if you thought they were okay, definitely read this one! Truths are revealed and beliefs shattered in the third and final installment of the Mortal Instruments trilogy. I loved, loved, loved this book!!!! ( )

It saddened me that this is the last book in the series. I would love to read more about Jace and Clary. These books were so good that I've read them several times and plan to read them yet again in the near future. I want more from Cassandra Clare!! ( )

First words
The cold snap of the previous week was over; the sun was shining brightly as Clary hurried across Luke's dusty front yard, the hood of her jacket up to keep her hair from blowing across her face.
