I found some of the music references tough to swallow--only a jazz or R&B afficianado would get the "solo in I7 over a moving bass riff with grace notes for color" comment. The average reader does not need that kind of detail. Sound like author is "just showin' off." Some of the dialog seemed choppy, especially at the end. ( )
