This was another of the very short books that had originally been part of a short-story series. J.D.Robb is the only author I know that can pull-off a top rate story in 69 pages. The story moved along and nothing was cut-short in reaching the conclusion. Great book. ( )

This was a short story without any character development included. It was good though. Very exciting and fast paced. I enjoyed it and look forward to the next book in the series. ( )

Typical Eve-Roarke. If you are reading this short, you are committed to the series. Good, bad, or in-between. ( )

Love the narrator for these books. She makes the characters come alive with all the different voices that she uses.

This book however was disappointing. As an audio book it was very short (only 3 hours) and the plot was straight forward. Lt Dallas figured out very quickly who committed the crime and it was all over so quickly, without any plot twists. Not one of J D Robb's better ones. ( )

Book description
Lieutenant Eve Dallas plunges into the violent aftermath of a ritualistic murder--and into the mind of an alleged witness who can't remember a thing to save his life.

When a high-society party is crashed by a naked, knife-wielding, blood-covered man who "thinks" he might have killed someone, Eve Dallas must track down the crime, and the criminals. Everything points to Satanic ritual, but Eve doesn't believe in devil worship....
