I am now reading The Assassin's Gate and enjoying it so far. I'm also listening to Me Talk Pretty One Day while I ride my bike. I have almost fallen off a few times because I am ... I couldn't agree more with #25 detailmuse on Let the Great World Spin.
I also forgot to mention that The Assassin's Gate was a LT recommendation, so I'm excited to start that one. ... from reading for the last couple of days. But today, I need to start Snow Falling on Cedars for book club and either The Assassin's Gate or Lolita. ... same coin, dems & gop...At times I can be so frustrated with politics....

I really liked the Assassins trilogy, but the first Liveship book was so harsh, I couldn't get into it. The books Robin Hobb has writtten as Megan Lindholm are somewhat different - not as epic - but good.
ANd IMO you have to be really dedicated to make it all the way through the Wheel ... ... and Longing in L.A. by Jennifer kaufman and Karen Mack
Fun. Well-written chick lit. Nice light read.

If you liked Cobra II, try Gordon and Trainor's book on the 1991 Gulf War, written in 1994, called The Generals' War. It's an excellent account, ... i'm also reading some fun chick lit The First Ass ... i'm just starting The Assassins' Gate by George Packer about America's history and current actions in Iraq. I will probably read along with it Jawbreaker by Gary Berntsen about our hunt for Osama bin Laden and how we came so close, so many times, to capturing/killing him, but were ... ... thousands psychologically scarred, etc. (The most balanced, brilliant review I've seen thus far of our current sinkhole is The Assassins' Gate by George Packer.)
And, if that wasn't enough more than 300 BILLION DOLLARS have been spent on credit (which we'll ALL have to pay off in the ... ... earlier media age, which made for a lot of cranky asides. A good read, all in all, though.
