This book allows you to create a completely custom sweater - all you do is plug in your measurements, then choose the details - stitch patterns, shoulders, neck opening, sleeve length - and the math is already done. Helpfully, the book comes in a hardback, spiral-bound format that makes it easy to lay flat. ( )If you want to knit sweaters, but you can't find patterns to suit the yarns you have, this is an essential addition to your library. Any gauge (tension) within reason is covered, and as long as you're willing to knit a swatch, you will be able to create a wide variety of sweater and cardigan designs, from kiddy-sized to giant. An incredibly useful book, and well-designed with a spiral binding so it stays open at the right page! Excellent value for money. great resource I love this compendium of patterns. In essence, you have the tool here to make any sweater you can imagine in any of several styles--blocky, set-in sleeve, saddle-shouldered, round-yoked, neck-down raglan. Combined with Nicky Epstein's Knitting Beyond the Edge, this book could constitute a complete pattern library. While it can be confusing to use the charts jumping from point to point (I personally recommend copying the pages you need each time and highlighting the correct counts and sizing information so as to avoid critical mistakes), the method of swatching, using formula, and creating your own masterpiece is irresistable to the creative knitter. This is a must have for sweater knitters. I am a plus size and this is going to be a life saver. I could not wait to buy it. I can't tell you how many times I checked it out of the library. If you have ever wanted to design your own sweaters this could be a great starting point. no reviews | add a review
