A Rocket in my Pocket is a collection of fun poems and rhymes that children recited when they did things like jumping rope. These rhymes are collected from the 19th and early 20th century, so some of them can seem culturally insensitive today. ( )

Carl Withers has created a fun and loving book that is filled with poems, songs, rhymes, and chants! These different poems and riddles and rhymes can be so useful for children who are learning to read or trying to expand their vocabulary. Some of these poems and chants are classics that a child of any age can reflect on and some of them may be new to a child to learn. This reading material can be a resource for teachers and parents to help teach poetry or rhyming words to their students and children. This is a great learning resource to have in the classroom and for children to have an opportunity to look through and learn! ( )
