ispettore mendez. barcellona delle puttane e trans insomma i bassifondi. la storia parte da una eredità divisa tra 4 persone. due di queste muoiono per mano della terza erere (blanca) . che pero' la fa franca perché il suo finto fidanzato( richard ex pugile ex carcerato) ... che si innamora di lei perchè gli ha fatto capirte un altro mondo e si accolla la colpa degli omicidi.
l'ispettore mendez è l'archetipo di tanti tanti altri ispettori scanzonati ecc etc... vedi fred vargas... bello i è piaciuto ... scritto nel 1984 apripista. ( )

Cuando aquella juez de Barcelona descubrió en su casa de playa el pecho recién cortado de una niña, no sabía que iba a resucitar una historia de ambiciones familiares. No sabía, sobre todo, que iba a resucitar una desesperada historia de amor, una verdadera "Crónica sentimental" teñida con el amarillo de la nostalgia y el rojo de la sangre. Pese a la nostalgia y la sangre, esta novela es más mucho más, que un relato policíaco, es una historia social cuyas raíces se hunden en la entraña de Barcelona, en los despachos de sus abogados, las redacciones de sus periódicos, las residencias de los que tienen un futuro en forma de cuenta bancaria y los cuchitriles de los que sólo tienen un pasado en forma de ficha policial. Es una novela sarcástica y dura, pero también de una inolvidable ternura. El viejo inspector Méndez, que ya ha aparecido en otras novelas del autor, oficia en las tinieblas de "otra" Barcelona que el lector irá descubriendo poco a poco.
