... check out, today I'm going to look at comic books. So here goes, my five favourite horror titles in comic books:
5. Arkham Asylum, by Grant Morrison and Dave McKean
This comic was actually the first graphic novel I ever purchased. Flipping through it on the shelf at the comic store, I ... ... series. Grant Morrison's The Invisibles or Final Crisis are both trades, whereas his The Mystery Play or Arkham Asylum are OGNs.
While "comics" is a catch-all term, too, I think its one most-used when referring to the monthy format of comic book publishing. So, "comics" and ... I'm with you on Arkham Asylum. I read an amazing review of it before I got it, and had I not had such high expectations I would have been pleasantly surprised, but the plot definitely needed another leg to stand on. Just finished Arkham Asylum which I had mixed feelings about. I loved the fact it was so dark and disturbed, and the artwork was fantastic, but I thought the story lacked depth. ... in this world of digital coloring; his talent shines through the tired gradients. Not brilliant writing by Loeb, but good.
