The House of 7 Gables by Nathaniel Hawthorne The Last House On the Left Black House by Stephen King with Peter Straub Blackwood Farm by Anne Rice Exit To Eden by Anne Rice writing under the pseudonym of Anne Rampling beatles1964

Man, I need to read The Talisman and Black House. Stephen King and Peter Straub are two of my favorite writers. I think I've been putting these off because I'm afraid I'll somehow find the combo disappointing.

hm, then Black House?

... Abhorsen Cry To Heaven - a bit trashy, but Tim Curry's narration is fabulous Devil in the White City The Talisman Black House Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell Alias Grace Some I didn't enjoy so much: Snow Flower and the Secret Fan - even abridged it tends to get redundant, ...

... Lisey's Story. My copy of Cell had an excerpt from it, which hooked me straight away. There were parts about Black House that I truly loved. The explanation of borderlands for instance still gives me chills when I think about it!

... lost that way. Among some of the other works that would be a good idea to read at the same time though, The Talisman and Black House are about the same main character and are a bit of a spin off on the Dark Tower series. These two could be read either before of after the whole series. One ...

cal8769 in Books on the Paranormal : Welcome (Apr 15, 2008, 9:14pm)

Black House by Stephen King. Storm of the Century by King I love when Andre Lenouge (spelling?) says, "Give me what I want and I will go away." That is seriously disturbing. Ghost Story by Peter Straub, my first Horror story that I ever read. I recently read My Favorite Horror Story. It's a ...

... He has some very diabolical stories if you find the right ones. Shadowland is at the top of my list and of coarse Black House and The Talisman with Stephen King. I am currently delving into the works of Jack Ketchum and can't believe I didn't read this stuff sooner. What the ...

... which he co-wrote with Peter Straub (not one of my favorite authors, but I did enjoy his Ghost Story). Their sequel, Black House, was good, though not as good as the original. The Dark Tower series was great; my favorite book of the series was Part V - Wolves of the Calla.

... me to read the books. I usually always read a book through once I start it come hell or high water, but I abandoned Black House by Stephen King last year. I had re-read The Talisman to prepare for it, (which I had read about 20 years earlier) and was so disappointed in the sequel, ...

Black House by Stephen King and Peter Straub

The Talisman by Stephen King. I hear Black House is even better, but I cannot vouch for it myself, as I have not read it yet.

Black House by Stephen King and Peter Straub

... Straub" comment. Well, I'm biased, though, I've only read him as co-author with Stephen King in The Talisman and Black House. But ignore the fact that I'm a huge SK fan when I tell you those two books are among my favorites :) Oh oh oh!!! I remember now, I also read Mr X, but a ...

... Princess Bride (well, mostly the film version, actually, Cary Elwes!! *swoons*) 2) Jack Sawyer, from The Talisman & Black House (he was a pretty boy ;)) 3) Richard Mayhew, from Neverwhere (he seems so lost, I could just hug him to death!) 4) Spider, from Anansi Boys From ...

MAY 15. Black House, by Stephen King and Peter Straub Sequel to The Talisman, I found this story as deeply engaging as the other book. It's quite different in tone though, darker and more horrific, involving a very twisted serial killer and gruesome descriptions. Reading it ...
