I didn't buy this book new & I'm glad. The first book showed a lot of promise, the second book didn't live up to even that forlorn hope & this book circled the drain. I don't think she can salvage this series now. I think 2 stars is generous. She has a neat premise, a new take on vampires, ghouls & such. Unfortunately, her writing has gone downhill along with her plot, characterization & overall theme. There was no doubt about how the story would play out. Her characters are too powerful - more powerful than the world around them. If someone jumps from the third floor down to a residential first floor, they're going to at least damage the floor, if not go through. Just one of many examples of poorly fitting the 'real' world into this fictional one. The good guys always had things their way & were too powerful to worry about much.I felt the book was rushed. Poor writing; sentence structure, dialogue & more, were all through out. The 'excitement' fell flat, was overdone & underdone, depending on the jerky flow. ( )

Strong third installment of the series - the chemistry between Bones and Cat is excellent, as always. ( )

Love her books. Hate to put them down. Cat keeps getting edgier and Bones gets more complicated. The stories are great. Tate is a thorn in both their sides. ( )

This is the third in the series by Ms. Frost. This book contiues where book 2 left off. Bones and cat are still together and of course Tate is still crazy about her. Bones forms an alliance with Mencheres and gains some of Mencheres power. Mercheres estranged wife Patra who happens to be very very evil is out to kill Bones. Patra knows Mercheres will not hurt her even tho she has done untold harm to him and people he knows. So it is up to Cat and Bones to fight Patra. The book has many many surprises. I was dumbfounded especially towards the last part of the book over something that happened. I actually felt like screaming and writing the author to ask her what she was thinking??? LOL Then of course I found out what she was thinking and all was well. I cannot wait to read her next book. I just can't seem to put her books down. It is always - one more minute - give me just one more minute and I'll go to bed. NOT! Author is highly recommended. ( )

I enjoyed the time I spent reading "At Grave's End". I thought the story was interesting and especially enjoyed the character's interactions with each other. I thought the storyline with Cat's mom and Rodney was a hoot and I was entertained each and every time Cat and Bones went to work. I thought the Cat/Bones relationship was very much appealing still and I didn't find the romance aspect lacking in any way. I had one problem that was the reason I gave this third book in the series a 3 star review. I felt this book was very disjointed. Discoveries were made and things revealed in a patchwork type of manner and more than once I was so confused by something that I had to re-read a little bit. The author also didnt' make very smooth transitions from scene to scene. While this didn't dim the enthusiasm I felt reading the story, I still didn't feel the same satisfaction..the same feeling of stumbling upon something magical...that I did in reading the first two volumes. If Frost's stories never were written better than this one here, I would still enjoy them enough to keep reading. Any paranormal fiction fan out there who hasn't started this series would be missing something very much worth reading. ( )

Some things won't stay buried . . . at grave's end

It should be the best time of half-vampire Cat Crawfield's life. With her undead lover Bones at her side, she's successfully protected mortals from the rogue undead. But though Cat's worn disguise after disguise to keep her true identity a secret from the brazen bloodsuckers, her cover's finally been blown, placing her in terrible danger.

As if that wasn't enough, a woman from Bones's past is determined to bury him once and for all. Caught in the crosshairs of a vengeful vamp, yet determined to help Bones stop a lethal magic from being unleashed, Cat's about to learn the true meaning of bad blood. And the tricks she's learned as a special agent won't help her. She will need to fully embrace her vampire instincts in order to save herself—and Bones—from a fate worse than the grave.
