If you've not read many of her books, it's fine. Clara Casey's had a disappointing year. First she lost out on a major cardiology post, then her husband left to be with his pregnant girlfriend and requested a divorce. By throwing herself into opening a new heart clinic Clara meets some memorable characters, makes new friends and realises that whenever a door closes a window opens. A lot of Binchy's favourite old characters and locations make an appearance in this novel, but there's just too many of them. None of the stories truly get told in full and the broken narrative just didn't work for me. A new cardiac clinic in Dublin is the nexis for friendship and romance. A light, quick read. I love M Binchy's books. They are comfort-food reading. This one has characters from her past novels. no reviews | add a review
