Watson wrote this novel back when novel tie-ins for the Warhammer 40K franchise was a rare thing. This omnibus edition includes 3 novels and a couple short stories linking the narrative arc. The first Warhammer 40K novel I've read, it remains one of my very favorites. It is a contrast to the Dan Abnett-House Style with its over-the-top Space Gothic. Reminiscent of Lovecraft, Huysmans, and Lautreamont. While the novel is dark, violent, and brooding, don't despair. These stories "go up to 11." no reviews | add a review

That said, this is one of the best 40k stories for immersing yourself into the brutal darkness that permeates the 40k setting. If you're looking for the Grimdark all these 40k fans are talking about, read this one. ( )
