Ooo, did you like The Host, MsD? K, you're still reading Dragon Heir? Didn't you start that a while ago? Perhaps I'm mistaken, in which case, read on and ignore me. ;)

I finished the Host yesterday, and I'm about to start on Trespassers on the roof of the world.

The Host by Stephenie Meyer. It's pretty interesting.

... books would be 1. Twilight, closely followed by 2. Eclipse, 3. Breaking Dawn and 4. New Moon. Now, you have to go read The Host if you haven't already. karen, now I want to go pick up Midwife of the Blue Ridge even more than I had before!!!!!! Here are my measly reads for the month. ...

# 66 Funny! I am currently listening to The Host as well. I have never read or listened to the Twilight series (I have intentions to do so, but just haven't done it yet) and purchased the CD of this book on a whim. It has taken me until about CD 5 to really get involved with the story. My ...

I'm listening to The Host and so far it is pretty interesting. Very different from the Twilight series. I'm not usually a huge Sci fi fan but this is holding my interest.

... by Betty Webb and An Exact Replica of a Figment of my Imagination: A Memoir by Elizabeth McCracken... I have The Host to read sometime...glad to hear it was good...and one day..I will read the Inheritance Cycle series...I saw a teen girl with her friends at Walmart Sunday...and ...

#12 The Host by Stephenie Meyer #13 The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd

... have to see if the library has the others. With the Pines system, I should be able to get them somewhere. I just bought Host and hope to read it soon, but I need to read the Early Reviewer's book I got first, Any Given Doomsday. I'm going to start on it today.

I just finished The Host by Stephenie Meyer. The author of the popular Twilight series, this book is Meyer's first for adults. I've enjoyed all of her books. Check out my review.

The Host and Breaking Dawn are two of the worst books I've read this year, maybe two of the worst, period. I'm just glad my kids are too young to get caught up in the mania. By the time they're old enough to read YA books, I hope everyone will have forgotten Meyer.

I've started reading The Host and I'm already loving it.

... reading. MsD, since you and I share a mad, mad love for Ender's Game, will you let me know what you think of The Host? I've had it for a while and just haven't had a minute to crack it open. * are other people having touchstone issues?

... The 19th Wife and am ready to start The Lace Reader, which I am very looking forward to reading. I'm listening to The Host by Stephenie Meyer, on audio in my car. Very different so far than the Twilight books.

I liked The Host, MsD. It was perhaps a bit longer than it needed to be, but that's kind of Meyer's style. The story was good.

Has anyone read the Host? If you did what did you think of it?

... My-er. Sounds just like Meijer if you have those out there. I hate to break it to you K, but the fifth book is The Host. I am sorry I missed the show. It sounded great!

... that requires a lot of research, so it's also nice to be keeping things light in my personal reading. I have not abandoned The Host, it's just that the comics are faster for me to finish these days. I didn't know much about the Dr. Strange character before I read this. I chose this 6 part ...

... hope it is as good as my last LT inspired book which was The Gargolye(wrong touchstone for some reason). Also picked up The Host on audio. But I still have 19th Wife to finish and return before I can start these. I might have to give up sleep.

... review. Fyrefly98 - (hi! we traded comments about The Host and the Twilight series) how about Into the Wild. I don't remember it being difficult reading, but I did find it interesting and wonder what you will think An ...

42. The Host by Stephenie Meyer -09-03-2008 This one started a little slow but once I got into it I really enjoyed it.

... novel" vein for me to really "love" it. I look forward to seeing if Ms. Meyer's writing becomes more complex over time. The Host was promising. Three Cups of Tea: One Man's Mission to Promote Peace . . . One School at a Time - this book renewed my faith in the goodness of humanity. What M ...

What about The Host by Stephenie Meyer? It's pretty hot right now, released recently, and has sci-fi themes. I haven't read it, and she may not be interested in it, but it would fill the categories. Can't think of any others.

I'm still working on The Host (actually I've put this down until I'm in the mood) and Artemis Fowl and the Time Paradox. I picked up The Ranger's Apprentice The Ruins of Gorlan this morning. We'll see how that goes.

#62 The Host by Stephanie Meyer, 624 pages

Finished Breaking Dawn and The Host. There were so many things I didn't like about the Twilight series - unlikable protagonist, unrealistic romance (even in a human/vampire/werewolf triangle!), easy "happy" ending. But I still read them quickly and wanted to discuss them with friends that had ...

... I swear, we have a lot of books in common, both that we have read or want to read. :) I promise, you will love The Host. It has a very strong romantic theme, in my opinion, and I think Stephenie Meyer handles it beautifully, once again, like she did in all the Twilight Books. Plus, ...

... on. I'm not sure what romance I'm going to read next. Since I'm on vacation next week I'm thinking I'll start either The Host (not exactly a romance, but I've heard it has a romantic theme) or Outlander since I'll have large chunks of reading time.

... like the second the most. I picked up After Dark by Haruki Murakami in the train station the other day and was hooked. The Host also lingers on the bedside table but will probably remain ignored.

... another year or whatever. But I know that she's more serious *right now at least* about writing Midnight Sun and seqeuls to The Host then she is about writing Jacob's story. But I can still hope, right? Okay, I'm done blabbering on for so long.. I think I repeated myself many times, and I ...

Well I just finished Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer, very good. Now im workign on..... The Damsel by Claire Delacriox The Time Machine by H. G. Wells The Host by Stephenie Meyer

After reading some very long and relatively intense books (The Host, Pillars of the Earth, and Breaking Dawn) I am now reading a "comfy" book, Little Men.

The Host - Stephanie Meyer - this book should have been good - alien invaders taking over people's bodies. I have seen this done extremely well before - there should have been a tremendous clash of wills between the invader and the mind that existed previously. There should have been extended ...

The Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon The Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer The Rogue trilogy by Claire Delacroix Stardust by Neil Gaiman The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks Didn't really think to hard on them, but they all were good books.

... but I wanted her to find someone. 7. Very convenient to the story that Bella could contain her newborn urges, eh? 8. *The Host Spoiler*: Renesme being so cute and pretty kind of reminds me of them picking a frail host for Wanda. Would people have trusted her so much if she wasn’t so ...

chris - how about The Host? It is by Stephenie Meyer. All her books are pretty big. But The Host is science fiction and supposed to be pretty damn good. Her Twilight series involves vampires and things. or how about the outlander series by Diana Gabaldon? it has a lot of romance though. ...

Found my Scarlet book, and have about 8 chapters left. I'm also still working on The Host, and haven't gotten very far. Anyone else have a hard time reading the first part? I've also begun The Book Theif.

>37 I know what you mean-- Now that Breaking Dawn's out, I can't wait for the Companion book! Oh, and future sequels to The Host, which she did mention in interviews a few times-- loved Ian!

... into poverty and depression wasn't so out of touch with contemporary society. Next up is Breaking Dawn and probably The Host.

I liked THe Host a lot. The story line was unique, and really enjoyable. But there was too much kissing. Otherwise, I just loved it, and couldn't put it down. the whole soul/host thing was one of those ideas i've never heard of before. I love how Stephenie Meyer takes normal stuff such as ...

... books (in my opinion). I'm a big scifi/fantasy lover, with a hint of romance thrown in, and these two fit that perfectly. The Host by Stephenie Meyer is an adult book that is really borderline. I'd recommend it for the older set that like the Twilight series, or those who are more into ...
