I like it, both the book and series so far, there is action and magic, good characters, many characters, war and battles. My only gripe is the amount of rape that is talked about on almost every second page. I wonder if there is a single woman in the whole Midcyru who hasn't been raped repeatedly. Really? What a world to live in, where most of the women are 'whores' and looked at as objects for men to enjoy when and where and how much they want to. I am not a feminist, but this book made me wonder if this is all that is going on in male authors' heads. again, Brent weeks wrote a captivating tale. when I first started the book I was apprehensive about whether or not it would be as good as the first book, but as soon as I read the first passage of Logan gyre in the hole I was hooked all over again. it had twists and turns, and I found myself loving and hating characters and wanting to turn the page over and over. his writing has improved over the first book but my opinion remains the same. his writing is absolutely terrible but the story is excellent. I consider this a guilty pleasure of sorts in that regard. my other gripes are how he throws in characters that seem arbitrary, and he uses rape and sex as loosely as a gratuitous video game. that bothered me a lot. but I tried not to let that bother me, and I found the tale to be very gratifying. the ending was superb. I am excited to read the finale in a week. no reviews | add a review
