I will definitely read more of her books. ( )So far, Night World is my favorite L.J. Smith series, because it is the most cracktastic. It is full of the kinds of stuff your sixteen-year-old id comes up with and incorporates into your private vast crossover-ridden original fiction playground. (Everybody mashes up all their favorite characters and tropes into a personal fantasy playground when they're sixteen, right? Right? Guys?) It has a secret history of the world, in which there is a Night World of witches, vampires, and shapeshifters, who are now trying to bring on the apocalypse, opposed only by an idealistic group of humans, witches, vampires, and shapeshifters with a nifty cool name (Circle Daybreak), and also there are soulmate bonds, reincarnation, and, lately, dragons. Sadly I am not as keen on soulmate bonds now as I was when I was sixteen, but L.J. Smith still is. Also, she is far too fond of vampires (boring!) and not fond enough of dragons (BEST THING EVER!), but no one is perfect.Full review. Huntress - This was the first section in the Night World No 3 book - I really enjoyed this book. I enjoyed the main character Jez and how she thought she knew who she was and then came to realization that she wasn't what she thought she was and found out her true heritage. Then she was afraid that her friends who where always there wouldn't accept her for what she was, so she ran off to be her other self. Well that didn't work out so well either for her. So she goes back expecting to be killed and for other reasons to help out her kind, but she finds that well I won't spoil it for anyone lets just say the battle's were exciting and made me stay up past my bed time just so I could turn the page. I enjoyed it very much and am getting ready to read the next one Black Dawn. Black Dawn - Once again I enjoyed this as well. Main character Maggie is a human girl who is captured by the Night world while searching for her brother whom she was told died. She didn't really believe the story his girlfriend gave when the police came with Sylvia to tell Maggies parents and her about his death, so she went off on her own to find out answers and got more than she bagained for. The way this one is written you know it is in more of a modern time however it takes you back to old times with castles and such and even though you know in the back of your mind it is still modern times you feel drawn in by the oldness of the castle and it drew vivid images in my mind. I can't wait to start reading Witchlight. Witchlight - I enjoyed the way everything really comes together in this one and am anxiously awaiting the next one to come out. I love the way L J writes these books and look forward to reading more of her works. no reviews | add a review
