My students enjoyed exploring this limited word book. The pictures are very detailed which provided us a great deal of material to discuss. The young girl has just moved to a new area and compares all her new traditions to the same traditions the Natives and European settlers created. ( )

Joel Kupperstein’s picture book talks about giving thanks. This book teaches young readers things to be thankful, just as the girl in the story is thankful for all that she has. It has colorful pictures and repeating words. The first page talks about the Pilgrims’ arrival in America and how they were thankful for their new home.
