... http://www.librarything.com/work/2204/reviews/53231642 This makes a lovely addition to our Bronte conversation. Re Good Omens, I'm with wisewoman. The plot summaries I've read flick me on the raw, it's all quite hurtful. A pity - if it was about anything else, I can see it's both ...

Good Omens is an awesome book. That's how I discovered Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. I have only read two Discworld books. I want to read the newest one Unseen Academicals.

Good Omens, which I just reread last weekend.

Good Omens is an excellent choice to follow Rethinking Christianity. :) I may have to look for the latter; it sounds quite interesting.

The premise sounds interesting enough. Your description made me think of Good Omens. (However, that book isn't in the slightest bit serious, so...maybe it's actually a horrible idea.) Was it boring? Or just awfully written?

12-Good omens by Terry Pratchett

My reaction to Good Omens was similar to yours, Tui. It was funny and clever, but I could only take so much of it at a time before silliness took over, at which time I'd put it down for something else. Separately, however, I love both of these guys.

Tui, From my perspective, spot on with Good Omens. I do agree that I think the authors had quite a good time writing it. I have not read much of Neil Gaiman, but I did very much like Neverwhere. It is not as funny, but I thought a better story. The only thing of Pratchett's that I have ...

I think your reaction is not as unusal as you might think. I know a lot of people here really adore Good Omens but, personally, I don't think it's either Gaiman's or Pratchett's best. Not even their second best. Still, I enjoyed it and it sounds like you're not sorry you read it, so all's ...
