I am in two minds about this book. While the self sufficiency aspects really interested me there were some elements that made for distressing reading - especially around animals. I will read more of Jenna’s memoirs to see how things progress for her. ( )

Cute. I don't think this added anything to my bank of knowledge, but I'm all for people finding a measure of self-sufficiency and enjoyment in life. ( )

A good book for learning that you don't need multiple acres of land to "do it yourself". ( )

This one of very few books I have ever been tempted to describe as "inspirational."

Without embroidering, Jenna paints a beautiful portrait of “a Handmade Life,” and yet makes it look utterly attainable. ( )

Loved it! It was great to read how someone who was basically in my sort of lifestyle make her homesteading dreams come true. ( )
