To get the perfect present for Mother, Little would have to face a black cat. They waited and waited for the cat to go away, but he wouldn't leave. Little had to find a new present. He decided to sing Mother a song. I thought this was a good book for older students. It shows that sometimes you have to use your imagination when things don't go your way.

The story is ok - three little mice wake up early to find their mother presents for Mother's Day. But the real joy of this one is the pictures - very detailed and fun to look at. ( )
