I enjoyed this one a lot. It's rare that somebody is willing to say that wanting to be alone can be a normal thing, let alone a positive one. I could relate to a lot of what the book talked ... I've had my eyes on Party of One: The Loner's Manifesto by Anneli Rufus (Ann!!) for awhile but haven't pursued it yet.
You might enjoy Elinor Lipman's fast, funny novel, The Pursuit of Alice Thrift, about a geeky doctor-in-training.
