ETA: I've also just started The Kama Sutra from my Banned Books list - I've got a nice edition with translations of some of the commentaries as well, which is good, since I'm pretty ignorant when it ... #58 I'm willing to bet that 'Japanese' one was either The Kama Sutra or The Scented Garden. I think most of our parents had a copy of one or the other secreted in a bedroom drawer! ... book, also from the NEH list)

Ever was my 41st book read since August! Now I'm reading John Thomas and Lady Jane by the amazing D.H. Lawrence and The Kama Sutra by Sir Richard Burton both of which are beautiful. I have the Complete Kama Sutra in with my dictionaries and thesauruses. Reference seemed the most logical place to put it as I don't have a sex section. (Perhaps I should!) The Complete Kama Sutra : The First Unabridged Modern Translation of the… by Vatsyayana.

* I was in the children's section one night, and I found guy reading the Kama Sutra, and he was very... happy about the book. He saw me staring. My brilliant response: "Can you not do that in the children's section, sir?"

Well there you have it.... my favorite books as ... I am reading Ama by Manu Herbstein who is a Library Thing author. It is a book about the African slave trade thru the experiences of a young woman who was captured and sold as a slave by an African tribe that was warring with her tribe. It is very well written, exciting and fearful. I'm in ... ... I have the Goodwill habit: I find it very hard to go the week without checking the nets there--this week I purchased The Complete Kama Sutra for two and change. Score.
I also remember going to pay-by-the-bagload library sales in the past--it was definitely a free for all situation, ...
