This was an excellent workbook to learn XHTML, HTML, and CSS. Nicely laid out with easy steps to work through. I highly recommend using this title for quickly learning the basics on web design. ( )

Extremely minimal index desperately detracts from the future usefulness of this book! That is a big problem. However the fun happy pictures lighten the load of learning and keep you from getting buried in seriousness. ( )

Although I'm still having trouble getting my html assignment done for my online course, this well-designed book for people who have some familiarity with computers, but who are not 'techies," has at least allowed me to make progress and not drop the class. It's humorous, if a little corny at times, has exercises you can do in the book, and is step-by-step with lots of analogies and illustrations. ( )

Good!!! learn HTML and CSS the easy way! You won't get the detail but you understand the concept very quickly. It is such an easy read I finished it leisurely within 3 weeks. ( )

Hardly a definitive textbook for HTML and CSS, this book will give you a good grounding in these skills. The light tone throughout the book keeps you interested.

Excellent addition to the aspiring geek's boofshelf. ( )

This is an absolutely fantastic book. It truly assumes you are a beginner and starts from the ground up, building a good foundation. It doesn't pretend to be a comprehensive 'finish this and you will know everything' book, either. It's done in a conversational, humorous and entertaining style, with plenty of examples and exercises to help you apply what you're learning. I wish there were more books in the series than there currently are!
