The Heritage
How to Be Intentional about the Legacy You Leave
J. Otis Ledbetter and Kurt Bruner

At last, a plan to ensure that the heritage you pass along to your children is the meaningful, spiritually rich, loving, life-equipping, memory-building legacy you want it to be!

Authors J. Otis Ledbetter and Kurt Bruner focus on three critical areas of every legacy-the spiritual, emotional, and social-and present a commonsense, intentional approach for:

Strengthening your roots by understanding the heritage you were given

Breaking the cycle of hurt that may have been caused by negative aspects of your family inheritance

Charting a new course for the future by building a positive heritage for yourself, your children, and coming generations

This book serves as the cornerstone for the "Heritage Builders" series, innovative and fun products specifically designed to help families fulfill the command of Deuteronomy 6: "Impress them [God's truths] on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up" (verse 7).

J. Otis Ledbetter, Ph.D., is senior pastor at Chestnut Baptist Church in Fresno, California, and chairman of the Heritage Builders Association, a cooperative network of families and churches committed to passing a solid heritage to the next generation. He and his wife, Gail, have three children, two who are grown and one teenager, still in the nest.

Kurt Bruner, M.A., a graduate of the Talbot School of Theology, is vice president of the Focus on the Family Resource Group in Colorado Springs and executive editor of the Heritage Builders Association. He and his wife, Olivia, have two young sons.
