In this volume the black cancer takes on a more deadly role leading the angels to become more interested in the data collected by Lord Seraphim. However, this data is guarded by Elvira, Seraphim's daughter, who has no intention of handing it over to those who had ostracized her father. Kagetsuya is assigned a new partner, Sayaka, to travel to Earth and confront Elvira for the information while Chihaya takes a vacation to visit the android Earthian, Taki. All the while the angels have to live with denial of their constantly shifting emotions.
For this volume my praises for the cover, plus my complaints on the similarity of the characters remain pretty much the same as in the first volume. An interesting side-note is that I didn't realize until now that this is the same manga-ka who is currently doing Loveless, which also dwells on unique, slightly disturbing relationships. I'd certainly suggest this manga-ka's work to those looking for series that stray outside the boundaries of more contemporary fantasy and romance. (
