#58 Deepwood by Jennifer Roberson
It is the sequel to Karavans, which I read two years ago when it came out. Before I was tracking my reading on LT. There is definitely going to be at least a third book coming out in the series.
These are big, multi-POV books with complex plots. I ... I like the sound of both Karavans and Deepwood. Hopefully they'll come up on BM at some point!
Thanks for the review. I finished Deepwood by Jennifer Roberson on Monday. It is the sequel to Karavans, which I read two years ago when it came out. Before I was tracking my reading on LT. There is definitely going to be at least a third book coming out in the series.
These are big, multi-POV books with ... ... in to a new USB just starting up in the mid-90s. I never started her Cheysuli series, but am reading her newest series now, Karavans and Deepwood.
My problem with the Shannara books is two-fold. First of all, the first trilogy was one of the many Tolkien wannabees produced after LOTR became ... ... to my taste, a topnotch story has to raise the bar from several angles - here's a recap of the list, here:
Fantasy:
Karavans and Deepwood by Jennifer Roberson
Breath and Bone by Carol Berg
SF:
Strength and Honor by R. M. Meluch
Endgame by Kristine Smith
Mainst ... ... up to a fine series with well developed world, conflict and characters. Then I plunged into Jennifer Roberson and read Karavans and Deepwood without stopping - gripping stuff, too, though if you like to catch your breath without cliffhanging, get both books at once, the finish point after ... ... of the Deceiver is still hardbound only.
So many good books - !!!!
Also, what about Jennifer Roberson, maybe Karavans? I've been "saving" this one for a special occasion read, but have heard very good reports on it.
