Fantastic. At points, as I was beginning to tire of the extreme violence, the story became gentle and pretty. The steamy romantic sections will break your heart.

The book is much rawer and moister than the movie. Despite the differences, I love them both as much as each other. ( )

Although I had been a big comic book fan for most of my childhood, The Crow was the first graphic novel I read. I can't remember exactly, but I believe I read it after the movie was released but before I saw it. There are big differences between the movie and book, but I would say the chances are, if you liked the one, you'll like the other and the differences between the two are enough to make each worth checking out. I didn't read O'Barr's graphic novel until I was intimately familiar with the movie adaptation by director Alex Proyas, which is also dark and brooding. The experience the graphic novel allows is an empathy with the author. We can posit that there was some tragedy in O'Barr's life that lead him to write the story, and that pain is especially evident early in the book. ( )

I can tell the major differences between this comic and the movie. I absolutely loved this comic book though. I love the illustrations. ( )

Not as good as I expected. I actually like the movie better... But I still liked it. Very distinct, brilliant and disturbing drawing. ( )
