Nancy is upset because she has promised her teacher that she will bring a venus fly-trap into school, when in reality, she does not actually have one at home. Her family are aboriginal and she visits her family and her uncle helps her make a special necklace from echidna quills and berries. This is an easy read written for Primary School students.

Nancy wants so much to be the centre of attention at school that she makes up a story - a wish, really.
