I love all books by Jamie Lee Curtis. Her choice of words and the pictures in her books are great. All her books while you read them just flow all together. This book is about a boy who is turning five and all the things he can do now that he is five. Very funny too.

I didn't love the wording and confusing illustrations but it is a good book for children starting kindergarten. ( )

A fun book to use for Kindergarteners. It is all about a boy who is five and the new responsibilities he faces. He thinks its hard being five at first, but at the end realizes five is pretty cool age. Starting kindergarten can be a hard time for children and this book is a fun way to show them everything is going to be okay.

This is a fantastic book. The illustrations are amazing. The book is about a boy who is 5 and everything that he is learning at this point in his life. At the beginning he is scared, however towards the end he learns how exciting it is to get older and to be able to do things on your own. This is a wonderful book for kindergarteners learning to adjust to their new lifestyles. Also the books rhymes so it would be great to integrate that into a learning discussion too. ( )

Book description

Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 0060080957, Hardcover)

It's hard to be five.
Just yelled at my brother.
My mind says do one thing.
My mouth says another.

It's fun to be five!
Big changes are here!
My body's my car,
and I'm licensed to steer.

Learning not to hit? Having to wait your turn? Sitting still? It's definitely hard to be five. But Jamie Lee Curtis's encouraging text and Laura Cornell's playful illustrations make the struggles of self-control a little bit easier and a lot more fun!

This is the sixth inspired book from the #1 New York Times best-selling team of Today I Feel Silly: & Other Moods That Make My Day and I'm Gonna Like Me: Letting Off a Little Self Esteem.
